Chicago quartet Ganser's new album Just Look at That Sky is due out via Felte Records (home to fellow TMR tips Mint Field) on the 31st of July. Produced in collaboration with Electralane's Mia Clarke, their electrifying new single 'Emergency Equipment & Exits' is a full-throttle entanglement of revered sonic touchstones ranging from wiry post-punk to propulsive krautrock. Sporting spindly guitar tones that conjure scratchy Bush Tetras vibes, a solid bass line provides stability as phased beats pummel out a powerful, motorik beat that feels like it could accelerate into space at any point. Taking a downbeat turn around just after halfway through, 'Emergency Equipment & Exits' stoops into a droney outro that stands in stark contrast to its frantic first half as vocalist/bassist Alicia Gaines releases the cathartic refrain "It's a long way down". -Holly Mullineaux
